The single best way to prevent the flu is to get a flu vaccination each fall
Source: Center for Disease Control
Excel Immediate Medical Care offers flu shots on a walk-in basis during our normal office hours starting in October each year. Please call us to confirm the availability and price of our flu shots.
We offer flu shots to all adults and children over the age of 6 monthsWe recommend that children under 3 years of age are given their flu vaccination (which is administered in two doses) by their pediatrician.
With the exception of Medicare patients, all patients must pay for their flu shot by cash or credit card at the time of the visit. We are required to bill Medicare directly for flu shots given to Medicare patients.
Excel Immediate Medical Care only gives the traditional "killed" vaccine by injection; this vaccine cannot cause the flu, and its most common side effect is soreness at the injection site.
Other vaccinations that we provide are:
- Tetanus;
- Hepatitis A;
- Hepatitis B
- Pneumovax; and,
- MMR
